In late September, Santeon sealed a five-year contract with Deli XL for catering all food, beverages and related articles. For the six collaborating hospitals, this is a logical continuation of clustering their purchasing activities. The contract was signed on Thursday 24 September 2009.

New role for association

The Santeon hospitals have already concluded a number of high-profile collective purchasing transactions. “During negotiations, Deli XL turned out to be a proactive party that we can further exploit our proposition around food and beverages with. We see that a lot of synergy can still be gained and with Deli XL we have contracted a partner that we can make the transition with”, says Hugo Hoeksma, program manager of purchasing & value chain management at Santeon.

Vincent Bos, institutional manager at Deli XL: “We are delighted with the obtained result and the success of our pioneering approach to keep serving the hospital market in the best way possible. Together with Santeon, we will further optimise the efficiency in the back end through supply chain management. Furthermore, a key role is reserved for our Advice & Organisation team. In concert with the hospitals’ hospitality managers, they will raise front-end hospitality to a higher level. This applies to patients, visitors and staff members, all retaining their own identities.
